Itinerary for trip to God's own Place “Karnataka”
The South India comprises of four different states and Karnataka is one of them. Karnataka is one of the larger states in India and a popular destination among the foreign and Indian tourists. The state of Karnataka, formerly known as Mysore, is situated on the western side of the Deccan Plateau. Karnataka is bounded by Andhra Pradesh in the east, Maharashtra in the north and Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the south. The people of Karnataka are localy known as Kannadigas.The Kannadigas are known for their hospitality and friendly and cultured attitude towards visitors. The folk theatre in Karnataka has an ancient and rich tradition. The two main dance forms are Yakshagana and the puppet theatre. 'Yakshagana' is a kin of the Kathakali dance of Kerala due to its elaborate costumes and vigorous dancing. Open air folk theatre or "Bayalata" is a famous dance form of Karnataka. This dance is performed at religious festivals and family celebrations and starts at night and continues till the wee hours of the morning.

Day 01 : Arrive at Bangalore.
Arrive Bangalore Airport transfer to Hotel. Rest day at leisure.

Day 02 : Bangalore
Morning after breakfast city tour of Bangalore. Bangalore is popularly known as the "Garden City", Bangalore is situated, 3,000 feet above sea level and has bracing, pleasant climate. Afternoon visit Bull Temple, Ranganathaswamy Temple. Overnight Stay at Hotel.

Day 03 : Bangalore to Puttaparthi (180 Km/ 4Hrs. Approx)
Morning after breakfast day free for own activity or Pooja Darshan.Puttaparthi, located in the south-west of Andhra Pradesh, Puttaparthi is surrounded by arid and rocky hills bordering Karnataka. Famous for its Sathya Sai Baba Mandir, it is among the most famous religious tourist destinations in the world. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04 : Puttaparthi to Mysore (230 Km/ 6Hrs. Approx)
Mysore is located approximately 140 km southwest of the state capital Bangalore. A culturally rich city, Mysore retains a unique old charm, which enthralls visitors a lot. Set at the base of Chamundi Hills, the city is renowned for its magnificent palaces, built centuries ago. Besides the palaces, several other attractions are like massive temples, important pilgrimage centres, well-maintained parks and scenic lakes.Check into hotel. Day at leisure.

Day 05 : MYSORE
Morning after breakfast, visit Nanjundeswara Temple (One Thousand Years Old), Keshava Temple Somnathpur The famous Keshava Temple in Somnathpur was built in 1268 A.D. when the Hoysala rule had completed 260 years. Built by the army commander of King Narasimha III, Somnath set up this project to glorify Hoysala craftsmanship. Somnathpur, a small village on the banks of river Cauvery is about 45 kms and ½ hrs drives from Mysore. Evening back to hotel and overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 06 : MYSORE TO Bangalore Airport (145 Km / 3 ½ Hrs), Flight from Bangalore to Madurai is at 11:45 am of Kingfisher Red and reaches Madurai at 13:15pm. MADURAI
Transfer to the hotel over night stay at Madurai hotel.

Day 07 : Madurai
After breakfast Visit Alagar Temple, Vishnu Temple, Meenakshi Amman Temple. In the evening attend the prayer ceremony at the Meenakshi temple. Overnight stay in Madurai.
Meenakshi Amman Temple:- Madurai's Meenakshi temple, which stand today as one of India's great cultural and architectural landmarks, was originally built by the early Pandya King Kulasekara.One legend says that on the day the city was to be named, Lord Shiva blessed the land and its people while divine nectar showered on the city from his matted locks. The city hence came to be known as Madhurapuri meaning The City of Divine Nectar The temple complex is within a high-walled enclosure, at the core of which are the two sanctums for Meenakshi and Sundareshwara, surrounded by a number of smaller shrines and grand pillared halls. Especially impressive are the 12 gopuras. Their soaring towers rise from solid granite bases, and are covered with stucco figures of dieties, mythical animals and monsters painted in vivid colours.

Day 08 : Madurai to Rameshwaram (173Km/4Hrs approx.)
After breakfast proceed for Rameshwaram (ONE OF THE TWELVE JYOTIRLINGA). According to the legend it is here that Shri Rama, on his return from Sri Lanka, offered his thanks to Lord Shiva and performed puja to wash away his sin in killing the Demon King, Ravana.
Rameshwaram is known for its 22 tirthas or wells in and around the main temple. This place is equally sacred to both Vaishnavites and Shaivites. According to Hindu Mythology, if one visits Rameshwaram and prays to Lord Shiva, one will be relieved of one’s sins. It is 197 metres long.

Day 09 : Rameshwaram to Madurai (180Km/4Hrs approx.)
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Madurai airport.
